Find a good spot, first and foremost. Make sure that you have enough space in your yard to accommodate the shed that you intend to construct.
Take proper measurements for your wood shed plans. This will prevent you from future problems regarding the specific measurement of the base and floor of the wooden shed you will be personally building.
Side Tables Wood
Keep in mind that the floor and base must be placed in a well-leveled ground and that the base and floor is initially has four equal sides. Decide whether the floor will be concrete or wood depending on your budget as the cost for these materials for the floor are the same.
Take into account whether the ground itself will be cemented and topped with a wooden floor or have a sufficient number of joists that are located and put in place using joist hangers as well as floor rim. Use any plywood that is durable and pressure treated to prevent it from decay or damage.
Set the rims and joists of the all the four walls and make sure that they are straight and equal in height. They need to be spaced and distributed evenly throughout the four walls. You may begin with the side walls, the back wall, and finishing with the front wall. All the walls must be perpendicular, plumb, and equally high.
After working securely on the base and floor as well as on the four walls, the end roof rafters can now be fixed. First off, identify their exact width and distance from each other. The distance of the end roof rafters can be temporarily set by using a wooden brace exactly on the angled tip of the roof rafters.
After measuring and bracing the end roof rafter on an available space of ground, both end roof rafters can be put up whilst making sure that the wood or steel beam is located exactly at the middle of the shed. There would be measurement instructions included with wood shed plans.
After the two end roof rafters are in place, the ridge beam and end braces should follow for proper installing and measuring. Make sure that all have the same length; do this accurately to avoid unnecessary cutting of woods.
Use a thin nail to hold the ridge beams and braces to initially check their positions and after checking, use wood screws to tighten the placement and joints. When the lookouts are already in place, continue adding the trim board down the lookouts.
And voila! If you followed the wood shed plans properly, you should be able to see the entire structure right now. However, if you encounter certain problems along the way, do stop and check what you did wrong. Basically, you would need to make sure that your shed is stable before you consider it finished.
In order to make the work easier for you, remember to look for plans that provide clear instructions and step by step guides that you can easily follow.
